Remove Boulders at P.E.I. Beachfront

Thanks to Marian White for this honest assessment of the Pt. DeRoche construction!

REMOVE BOULDERS AT P.E.I. BEACHFRONT

The Guardian (Charlottetown) 24 Feb 2023

Blooming Point beach is just down the road. We have a disaster on our hands with a 19-foot-high wall of boulders blocking the beach.

Islanders can be proud of our Lands Protection Act that spells out buffer zone regulations along with limits on non-resident purchase of shore frontage.

Bureaucrats and their ruling politicians broke their own rules in permitting this monstrosity. I suggest they read the Lands Protection Act.

We need a government that follows established legislation to protect our shorelines and public beaches. As an NDP candidate in the 2023 election, I believe in government accountability, not profit-seeking at any cost!

A stop-work order is needed and we’d like those ugly boulders removed now.

Marian White, Tracadie, P.E.I.
