Beneficial changes being made to help farmers mitigate impacts of climate change through research

Prince Edward Island Government finds new way to undermine the spirit and intent of the Lands Protection Act.

This media release was published last Friday: https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/…/beneficial-changes… The PEI King Government has chipped away once again, at the foundation of the Lands Protection Act by giving corporations an exemption of up to 350 acres for research purposes.

Who does this exemption benefit? The first criteria will tell you.

– “The applicant must be at or is expected to reach its land holding limit in the reasonably foreseeable future.”

There are 1354 farms on PEI, of those farms only 21 are at 2250 acres or more.
